“Cara a cara” is Spanish for “face to face” and is
the title of an art project initiated by artist Bernice Wilson. It involves 14 (mostly)
London-based Artists and hopes to raise money and awareness for street children
in, Bolivia. It is a reciprocal portrait project and involves 31 children from
Bolivia creating portraits of the artists and in turn the artists have created
a portrait of the corresponding child.
They are holding a number of exhibition events around
London (see
below for details) during January and February 2013. Whilst all
events are running we will simultaneously by holding a silent online auction of
all the artworks, they have speakers, some children’s workshops and hopefully
Bolivian entertainment.
