Miss Obleas: Cocktail Recipes: Strawberry Daiquiri .
Daiquiri, a refreshing white rum, lime and
sugar beverage invented in the early 20th century by Jennings S Cox, an
American working in the mines of the Cuban town of Daiquiri.
The strawberry version combines sweet and
fragant strawberries with white rum and refreshingly tangy lime juice :)
it can also be added mint.
3-4 strawberries, plus an extra strawberry slice to decorate.
1 dash of strawberry syrup
6 mints leaves, plus extra to decorate (optional)
ice cubes
2 measures of white rum
2 measures of freshly squeezed lime juice.
Put the strawberries, strawberry syrup, and
mint (optional) into a cocktail shaker and muddle together. Half-fill
the shaker with ice cubes. Add the rum and lime juice and shake until a
frost forms on the outside of the shaker. Fine or double strain into a
chilled Martini (cocktail) glass. Decorate with a strawberry :) .
