FREE EVENT: Día de Muertos / Day of the Dead in London

Día de Muertos is back at RichMix for the 3rd year in a row! Mexico Lindo y Querido Community Group London brings the most authentic Day of the Dead celebration in the UK.

This year they want to celebrate The Day of the Dead in a very special way by bringing back the mystic tradition that surrounds the commemoration of our loved ones that have passed away. A fully traditional altar, live music, arts & crafts and probably the most deliciously crafted Mexican food on this side of the pond courtesy of Rosa’s Kitchen & Azteca's.

Day of the Dead is a tradition spanning back thousands of years, where Mexicans honour their dead and celebrate life. You are invited to bring mementos for your dead (i.e photos, food, flowers) to add to this altar.

And this Sunday 1st of November they will have workshops, music and dancers to keep all the family entertained.

ONA : The First Chilean Dining Experience in Trafalgar Square.

It doesn't surprise me that more and more Latin American Chefs are delighting us and introducing to London .. a new culinary vibe with Latin Flavours.

This time ONA, for the first time, will take us to a chilean dining experience, in Trafalgar Square, on the 19th Of September for five Saturday Nights. Unsurprisingly Chilean wine will be a feature!

"ONA goes in a different direction by taking traditional Chilean dishes such as Pan Amasado and Pebre (rustic bread with Chilean tomato salsa), Plateada and Pastelera (slow-cooked rib cap beef with corn-meal) and Mote con Huesillos (peach and barley drink-dessert) and reimagining them to create light, elegant plates while preserving the soul of Chilean food." (Mote con Huesillos, -Barley and Peach- as pictured above.)

"It's named after the Ona indigenous people of the Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) islands in the Patagonia region of Southern Chile. A deeply spiritual people, who respected their food from source to plate, as hunter-gatherers they asked permission to shamans and the spirit of the earth before collecting, preparing and cooking what they ate.
ONA aims to celebrate their strength, cultural identity and reflect their striking tribal aesthetic."

It's five-course food and drink menu it's entirely hand-crafted from the bread to the cheese. Very authentic, inspiring, very Latin American.
